Why We Need to Rethink Our Vision of Success for Inner Peace and Authentic Happiness

In today’s whirlwind world of memes, TikTok dances, and instant gratification, our perception of success has been hijacked by an army of glittering material possessions and lifestyles that make reality TV stars green with envy. This twisted notion of success, fueled by social media, advertising, and our inner shopaholic, has seeped into our minds, creating a pandemic of bruised egos and withering self-worth.

We’re constantly bombarded by an avalanche of images showcasing palatial homes, cars that cost more than our annual salary, and vacations that make our weekend getaways look like a trip to the local park. And we use these images to create our vision boards of ‘success.’ This unrelenting pursuit of external validation has us chasing an ever-moving finish line, leaving us feeling like we’re forever playing catch-up in a race with impossibly high hurdles.

Vision boards filled with images of boats, beaches, and cars can be toxic to our self-worth for several reasons:

  1. Focus on materialism: When vision boards transform into a catalog for luxury items, they inadvertently suggest that our worth is measured in dollar signs. As a result, we find ourselves trapped…
